Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground hot sausage
  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 lb Velveeta cheese
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 (12 oz) package party rye or pumpernickel bread

Instructions

  1. Cook Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage and beef until browned. Drain grease.
  2. Add Cheese & Seasonings: Return skillet to low heat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, oregano, garlic powder, and Velveeta. Mix until melted and combined.
  3. Prepare Bread: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange rye or pumpernickel slices on a baking sheet.
  4. Top & Bake: Scoop about 2 tbsp of filling onto each slice. Bake 12–15 minutes until bubbling.
