Ingredients
- 12 ounces bow tie pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional: grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook bow tie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Cook Sausage: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Italian sausage, breaking it into chunks, and cook until browned.
- Add Aromatics: Stir in diced onion and garlic. Cook 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Make Sauce: Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to blend flavors.
- Combine: Add cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss until pasta is coated with sauce and sausage is evenly distributed.
