Hearty Minced Meat & Potato Casserole with Herbs 🥔🍖🌿✨

Ingredients
For the Casserole
- 600 g minced meat
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Sweet paprika, to taste
- Italian herb blend, to taste
- 2 onions, chopped
- Fresh dill, chopped
- 800 g potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Butter (for greasing and sautéing)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Mushroom Sauce
- 250 g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp butter
- 200 ml cream
- 1 tbsp flour
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions 👩🍳
- Prepare meat: Heat oil and butter in a pan. Sauté onions and garlic, then add minced meat. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and herbs. Cook until browned. Stir in dill and parsley.
- Prepare potatoes: Boil sliced potatoes in salted water for 8–10 minutes until tender. Drain.
- Layer casserole: Grease a baking dish. Layer potatoes, then meat mixture, then more potatoes. Pour beaten egg over the top.
- Bake: Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden and set.
- Mushroom sauce: In a pan, melt butter. Sauté onion and mushrooms until soft. Stir in flour, then add cream. Simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve: Slice casserole and top with mushroom sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley.
