Make the Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 13×18-inch sheet pan.
  2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.

  4. Add eggs, yolks, sour cream, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 20–25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

Make the Frosting

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter with cocoa powder and milk. Bring to a simmer.
  2. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Spread frosting over warm cake. Sprinkle with pecans if desired.
