Golden Easter Bread Delight
Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 60 g sugar
- 200 ml warm milk
- 200 ml warm water
- 8 g dry yeast (≈ 2¼ tsp)
- 600–650 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 100 g soft butter (unsalted, room temperature)
- 100 g raisins
- 100 g dried apricots, chopped
- 100 g walnuts, chopped
Instructions
- Activate Yeast: Mix warm milk, warm water, and sugar. Add yeast, stir, and let sit 10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix Dough: Add eggs and salt. Gradually add flour until dough forms.
- Add Butter: Knead in butter gradually until smooth and elastic (8–10 minutes).
- Fold in Fruits & Nuts: Add raisins, apricots, and walnuts. Cover and let rise 1–1.5 hours.
- Shape & Rise Again: Punch down, shape into braids or rounds. Cover and let rise 30–40 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush tops with beaten egg. Bake 30–35 minutes until golden.
