For the Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp oil or melted butter
  • ~½ cup water (as needed)

For Frying

  • Vegetable oil

  1. Make filling: Heat oil in skillet. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant. Add beef, cumin, coriander, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is browned. Stir in cilantro. Cool slightly.
  2. Prepare dough: Mix flour, salt, and oil. Add water gradually until smooth dough forms. Knead briefly, then rest 20 minutes.
  3. Shape samosas: Roll dough into thin circles. Cut in half. Form each half into a cone, fill with beef mixture, and seal edges with water.
  4. Fry: Heat oil in deep pan. Fry samosas until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve: Enjoy hot with chutney, yogurt dip, or ketchup.
