Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup (65 g) powdered sugar
- 1 1/4 cups (160 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (30 g) cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Glacé cherries or maraschino cherries, halved
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and mix to combine.
- Sift in flour, cornstarch, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe swirled rounds onto the prepared tray, leaving space between each.
- Place a cherry half in the center of each swirl.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
