Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour or ground oats
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
For the Chocolate Ganache:
- 200g dark chocolate, chopped
- 200ml heavy cream
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour two cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Slowly stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).
- Divide batter into pans. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before frosting.
- For ganache: Heat cream until hot (not boiling), pour over chocolate, let sit 2 minutes, then stir until smooth. Cool slightly.
- Layer cake with ganache between and on top. Decorate with chocolate curls if desired.
