  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prep the Potatoes: Grate potatoes and squeeze out excess moisture with a kitchen towel. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook the Beef Filling: Heat olive oil in skillet. Sauté onion and garlic for 2 minutes. Add ground beef, cook until browned, then stir in paprika, salt, and pepper. Let cool slightly.
  3. Assemble the Cakes: Flatten a handful of grated potato into a patty. Add beef mixture and cheddar in the center. Cover with more potato and seal edges into a round cake.
  4. Fry to Perfection: Heat olive oil in skillet. Fry cakes 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
