A decadent cheesecake with a chocolate crust, creamy cocoa filling, and fresh strawberry topping.

Ingredients

For the Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)

For the Cheesecake Filling

  • 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Strawberry Topping

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For Garnish

  • Melted chocolate (for drizzling)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

For the Crust

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Mix chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until combined.
  3. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan. Bake for 8–10 minutes, then let cool.

For the Cheesecake Filling

  1. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add cocoa powder, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Pour filling over crust and smooth the top.
  4. Bake for 45–50 minutes, until center is set but slightly jiggly.
  5. Turn off oven and let cheesecake cool inside with door slightly open for 30 minutes.
  6. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.

For the Strawberry Topping

  1. Combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  3. Let topping cool completely.

Assembly

  1. Spread cooled strawberry topping over chilled cheesecake.
  2. Drizzle melted chocolate on top.
  3. Garnish with whipped cream and extra strawberries if desired.
