Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (sweet), softened
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3/6 cup sugar (about 1/2 cup)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk
  • Optional: melted chocolate and sprinkles/nuggets

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a bowl; set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg yolks and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture until just combined. If dough is too dry, add milk 1 tbsp at a time.
  6. Pipe or shape dough into 1 1/2-inch swirls or rounds on prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool completely. Dip in melted chocolate and decorate with sprinkles if desired.
