Ingredients
For the halloumi
- 1 block halloumi cheese (about 8 oz), cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
For the chili honey sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Directions
- Prepare the halloumi: Cut cheese into 1-inch cubes.
- Prepare the coating: Mix flour, paprika, salt, and pepper in one bowl. Place panko in another.
- Coat the halloumi: Dredge cubes in flour mixture, then coat with panko.
- Fry the halloumi: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry cubes 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Work in batches if needed.
- Make the sauce: In a small saucepan, combine honey, chili flakes, soy sauce, and garlic powder over low heat. Stir until smooth.
- Coat the halloumi: Toss fried halloumi in chili honey sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve: Arrange on a platter, garnish with extra chili flakes if desired, and enjoy immediately.
