Golden, crunchy halloumi cubes tossed in sweet-spicy chili honey sauce—an irresistible appetizer or snack!

Ingredients

For the halloumi

  • 1 block halloumi cheese (about 8 oz), cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

For the chili honey sauce

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Directions

  1. Prepare the halloumi: Cut cheese into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Prepare the coating: Mix flour, paprika, salt, and pepper in one bowl. Place panko in another.
  3. Coat the halloumi: Dredge cubes in flour mixture, then coat with panko.
  4. Fry the halloumi: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry cubes 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Work in batches if needed.
  5. Make the sauce: In a small saucepan, combine honey, chili flakes, soy sauce, and garlic powder over low heat. Stir until smooth.
  6. Coat the halloumi: Toss fried halloumi in chili honey sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Serve: Arrange on a platter, garnish with extra chili flakes if desired, and enjoy immediately.
