Donut Grilled Cheese with Bacon & Maple Glaze 🍩🧀🥓
A sweet and savory twist—gooey grilled cheese sandwiched in glazed donuts, topped with crispy bacon and maple glaze.
Ingredients (Makes 2 sandwiches)
- 2 glazed donuts, sliced in half horizontally
- 4 slices crispy cooked bacon
- 4 slices cheddar or American cheese (or your favorite melty cheese)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar (optional, for glaze)
Instructions
- Prepare Donuts: Slice glazed donuts in half horizontally to create “buns.”
- Assemble: Place a slice of cheese and 2 bacon strips between each donut sandwich.
- Butter & Grill: Spread softened butter on the outsides of the donuts. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill sandwiches 2–3 minutes per side until cheese melts and donuts are golden.
- Make Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk maple syrup with powdered sugar until smooth.
- Finish: Drizzle maple glaze over the grilled sandwiches.
- Serve: Slice in half and enjoy warm.
