Easy Peppermint Bark 🎄🍫✨

A holiday classic—layers of rich chocolate infused with peppermint and topped with crunchy candy canes.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 8 ounces white chocolate, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ⅓ cup finely crushed candy canes or peppermint candies

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  2. Melt Dark Chocolate: Microwave chopped dark chocolate in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth. Stir in ¼ tsp peppermint extract.
  3. Create First Layer: Spread melted dark chocolate evenly in pan. Let sit at room temperature.
  4. Melt White Chocolate: Microwave chopped white chocolate in bursts until smooth. Stir in remaining ¼ tsp peppermint extract.
  5. Add Crunch & Assemble: Fold ¼ cup crushed candy canes into white chocolate. Pour over dark chocolate layer and spread evenly. Sprinkle remaining candy canes on top and press lightly.
  6. Set & Break: Let bark harden completely at room temperature for several hours. Lift out with parchment and break into rustic pieces.

  • Flavor twist: Add orange zest or drizzle with dark chocolate for variety.
