Ingredients

For the Chicken Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • ⅓ cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

For the Tzatziki Sauce

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh mint (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Directions

  1. Make Tzatziki: Combine yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, dill, mint (optional), salt, and pepper. Stir well, drizzle with olive oil, and refrigerate.
  2. Prepare Meatballs: In a bowl, mix chicken, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, parsley, dill, oregano, lemon zest, lemon juice, and egg. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Shape: Roll mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  4. Cook: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and cooked through.
  5. Serve: Arrange meatballs on a platter with tzatziki. Garnish with dill and lemon wedges. Serve with pita bread or Greek salad.
