Homemade Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies 🍪🍫

Ingredients
Dough
- 1¾ cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp fine sea salt
- ¾ cup (170 g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
- ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (110 g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) whole milk
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1¼ cups (225 g) semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chopped chocolate bars
Finishing Touch
- Flaky sea salt (optional, for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Prep & Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Wet Ingredients & Creaming: In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and glossy (~1 minute). Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Whisk until fully combined and slightly thickened.
- Combine & Fold: Add dry ingredients all at once. Stir just until no flour streaks remain. Fold in chocolate chunks.
- Scoop & Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment. Divide dough into 6 equal portions (~½ cup each). Roll into tall mounds and space 4 inches apart. Bake 12–14 minutes until edges are golden and centers puffed. Tap pan firmly once on counter to create crinkle. Sprinkle with flaky salt if desired.
- Cool & Serve: Cool on sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack. Best served warm or within 48 hours. Store airtight up to 5 days.
