Ingredients

  • 12 ounces bow tie pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook bow tie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook Sausage: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Italian sausage, breaking it into chunks, and cook until browned.
  3. Add Aromatics: Stir in diced onion and garlic. Cook 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Make Sauce: Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to blend flavors.
  5. Combine: Add cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss until pasta is coated with sauce and sausage is evenly distributed.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve hot.
