Lumpia (Filipino Spring Rolls) 🥢🥟✨
Golden, crispy rolls filled with savory pork and vegetables—perfect for parties, snacks, or family meals.
Ingredients
For the Filling
- 1 lb ground pork (or ground chicken)
- 1 cup carrots, finely shredded
- 1 cup cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
For Wrapping & Frying
- 25–30 lumpia wrappers (or spring roll wrappers)
- 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Optional Dipping Sauce
- ÂĽ cup vinegar
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp sugar
- A pinch of pepper
Directions
- Prep the Filling: In a large bowl, mix ground pork, carrots, cabbage, onion, garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Assemble the Lumpia: Place a wrapper on a flat surface, corner facing you (like a diamond). Add 1–2 tbsp of filling near the bottom. Fold the bottom over the filling, fold in the sides, then roll tightly. Seal the end with beaten egg.
- Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F / 175°C).
- Fry the Lumpia: Fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4–5 minutes. Turn occasionally for even browning.
- Drain & Serve: Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with dipping sauce.
Tips
- Extra crisp: Use thin lumpia wrappers for maximum crunch.
- Flavor boost: Add a splash of fish sauce or oyster sauce to the filling.
- Make-ahead: Assemble lumpia and freeze uncooked; fry straight from frozen when ready.
