A decadent twist on classic fries, loaded with tender steak, sautéed veggies, and gooey melted cheese — perfect for sharing or indulging solo!
Ingredients
- 1 lb steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 8–10 slices White American cheese
- 20 oz bag waffle fries (McCain Quick Cook or your favorite)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Cook the Steak: Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high. Add steak, season with garlic salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté the Vegetables: Reserve 1 tbsp of liquid from skillet, discard the rest. Add bell pepper and onion, cook until tender but crisp. Remove and set aside.
- Layer the Fries and Toppings: Spread waffle fries in skillet or baking dish. Place 4 slices of cheese over fries. Add steak and veggies. Repeat layers, finishing with remaining cheese slices.
- Bake: Bake 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from oven, cool slightly, and serve hot. Enjoy!
