A sweet, crunchy snack made with pecans, Crispix cereal, and a caramel coating—perfect for sharing!
Ingredients
- 2 cups pecan halves (salted preferred)
- 8 cups Crispix cereal
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250ºF (120ºC).
- In a large bowl, toss together Crispix cereal and pecan halves.
- In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Stir until mixture comes to a rolling boil. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and baking soda.
- Pour mixture over cereal and pecans, stirring until evenly coated.
- Spread coated mixture into a 9×13-inch pan. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes.
- Transfer mixture onto wax or parchment paper to cool. Break into pieces once cooled.
