A decadent chocolate cake with creamy peanut butter filling, Reese’s chunks, and gooey chocolate pockets.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix + required ingredients (eggs, oil, water)
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (~15–20 miniatures)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Heat Oven & Prepare Pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make Cake Batter: Prepare cake mix as directed. Pour into pan.
  3. Prepare Filling: Beat cream cheese, butter, and peanut butter until smooth. Add vanilla. Gradually mix in powdered sugar until thick.
  4. Assemble: Drop spoonfuls of filling randomly over cake batter. Sprinkle chopped Reese’s and chocolate chips evenly on top.
  5. Bake: Bake 40–50 min until edges set and top puffed/cracked. Center should be soft but not liquid.
  6. Cool & Serve: Cool completely in pan. As it cools, the center sinks for “quake” effect. Serve at room temp.
