Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Cooked white rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Sauté Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sliced sausage until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté Veggies: In same skillet, add oil or butter. Sauté onion and bell pepper until soft. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
  3. Add Cabbage: Stir in chopped cabbage. Season with paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Cook 5–7 minutes until wilted and tender.
  4. Add Shrimp: Add shrimp to skillet. Cook 3–4 minutes until pink and opaque. Return sausage to pan and stir to combine.
  5. Serve: Spoon mixture over warm rice. Garnish with extra black pepper or hot sauce if desired.
