A classic holiday side dish—creamy sweet potatoes topped with a crunchy pecan streusel.

Ingredients (9×13-inch dish, serves 8–10)

Sweet Potato Mixture

  • 4 large sweet potatoes (about 5 cups mashed)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Topping

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prep Sweet Potatoes: Peel and boil sweet potatoes until tender. Mash until smooth.
  2. Mix Base: In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir until well blended.
  3. Assemble: Spread sweet potato mixture evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Make Topping: In a small bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, pecans, and melted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over sweet potato mixture.
  5. Bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes, until topping is golden brown.
  6. Serve: Let cool slightly before serving warm.
