Sweet Potato Casserole 🍠🥧
A classic holiday side dish—creamy sweet potatoes topped with a crunchy pecan streusel.
Ingredients (9×13-inch dish, serves 8–10)
Sweet Potato Mixture
- 4 large sweet potatoes (about 5 cups mashed)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
Topping
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup chopped pecans
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Prep Sweet Potatoes: Peel and boil sweet potatoes until tender. Mash until smooth.
- Mix Base: In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir until well blended.
- Assemble: Spread sweet potato mixture evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Make Topping: In a small bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, pecans, and melted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over sweet potato mixture.
- Bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes, until topping is golden brown.
- Serve: Let cool slightly before serving warm.
