The only bread recipe that never fails—soft, simple, and perfect for everyday baking!

Ingredients (Makes 2 Loaves)

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp yeast
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 5.5 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve sugar in warm water. Add yeast and let proof until foamy.
  2. Once proofed, stir in vegetable oil.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt.
  4. Add dry mixture to wet mixture one cup at a time, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead dough for 3–5 minutes until smooth.
  6. Place dough in an oiled bowl, turn to coat both sides. Let rise for 1 hour.
  7. Punch down dough, shape into loaves, and place in greased bread pans.
  8. Let rise for 30–40 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 30 minutes.
  10. Brush tops with butter while warm. Cool slightly before slicing.
